The Lodge has held meetings, quizzes and socials throughout the Covid-19 pandemic since UGLE suspended all formal masonic gatherings, some of our prize winners and photographs are in the galleries.
We have also trialled a hybrid video/physicial meeting ready for our Installation meeting in September.
We resume physical meetings in early September, subject to restrictions, and we will be able to welcome old friends, and new, to the Lodge in Trinity Lane. UGLE has issued some guidance for changes to how we do things, along with our own Covid-19 risk assessments.
Our face-to-face social events will resume once the current restrictions are lifted.
Our Lodge started as a group of old school friends and staff members of the local Grammar School getting together to create a Lodge.
Today there is no requirement for any prospective member to be an Old Boy of Beverley Grammar School, and a warm welcome is assured to anyone interested in joining our Lodge, either as a joining member or a new member.
Why not come along to one of our socials to get to know us?
We meet on the first Saturday in September, October, December, February, March, June and July.
We install the new Master in September and have an open Christmas meal in December, inviting partners and friends.
Our July meeting is our 'Business Meeting' dealing with elections and administration.
We have donated, with the assistance of Freemasons Charity of Yorkshire (North and East Ridings), to local charities to assist in their Covid-19 recovery, Rape Crisis centres for unexpected expenses and schools for sensory equipment
As a lodge we have donated funds to individuals for dance and music tuition, to the Sea Cadet Corps to fund IT suites and to send cadets away sailing and to Beverley Grammar School to endow a prize at the annual Speech Day
Since our foundation we have put funds towards national campaigns as well as those on our doorstep, including ground breaking research into Motor-Neurone Disease at Sheffield University, and Prostate Cancer research at York University
